Continue the tradition of the Canada Day 5th Street Mile by running virtually on July 1/2020.

Where do I run?
Pick a quiet place where you can safely distance from others.  It can be a trail, the sidewalk, or pathway.  Measure your route before the race day to ensure it is accurate.  Please do NOT use 5th Street as it will not be blocked off as in past years.

How far am I running?
One mile/1.6 kilometers

Are there age groups?
No. Everyone is welcome.

Can I run with my family or friends?
Yes.  Just follow any physical distancing directives set out by our health authorities.

Are there prizes?
Yes. Everyone is a winner by completing a safe and fun one mile run.  There will be draw prizes selected randomly from all registered participants, thanks to our generous donors from Extreme Runners, Graham’s Jewellers, The Cumby and The Comox Valley Regional District

Okay. I'm in! How do I sign up?
Download the free Strava app if you don’t already have it.  Hit “explore” on the menu bar, then select “clubs”.  Search for and join Comox Valley Roadrunners.  Next join the club event “Canada Day Virtual Mile”. Send the race organizers an email at so we can add your name to the draw prize list.

I am not interested in downloading Strava but still want to join in the fun.  What do I do?
Contact the race organizers at  Supply us with your name and we will add you to the participants list. Email your confirmation of who completed your mile and your time(s) (if you timed it).

I am not a Comox Valley Roadrunner member, can I still run the Virtual Canada Day Mile?
Yes.  Go to the membership purchase and waiver tab on this site. The event is free but we require a waiver to be signed.

Remember to be safe and have fun.  Dress up for Canada Day.  Take photos.  Upload your photos to Strava or email them to for a chance to be pictured on the Comox Valley Roadrunner’s website or Facebook page.
