Run4Fun Kids Clinic 2021
Kids between the ages of 7 and 14 get to explore seven locations in the Comox Valley as they enjoy the Comox Valley Road Runners’ (CVRR) eight-week Run4Fun program. Young runners will increase their endurance and learn to run on varied terrain at locations including Seal Bay Park, the North East Woods, Puntledge Park, and MacDonald Woods. Each week will offer different games and challenges.
Supported by a team of experienced Comox Valley Road Runners, young runners will learn about the importance of a proper warm-up, pacing, good nutrition, and injury prevention. Runners do most of their distance running in small groups of similar-pace runners, so regardless of kids’ fitness levels or abilities, everyone will get fresh air and exercise while participating in a supportive and non-competitive environment.
Many young runners return year after year, and runners 12 years and older who have participated in the program for at least one year are eligible to become Junior Leaders. The Run4Fun program relies on dedicated CVRR volunteers as well as generous sponsors.
