Great article George. Thanks for sharing it. He was definitely an idle of mine as well. When I ran Toronto last year at age 60, my goal was to beat his time at age 73. I ran 2:56 and missed it by 2 minutes. That's a big 2 minutes to someone 13 years older than I. I can only hope that I hold my speed into my 70s.

On a bad day, what's your excuse?

Postby GeorgeB » Wed Jul 26, 2017 11:40 am

http://onceuponatimeinthevest.blogspot. ... -list.html

Recently I received a list of excuses for poor running performance developed by Ted Haydon, venerable coach of the University of Chicago Track Club in the 1950s and 60s. Some of the excuses are a bit antiquated. You may be able to add some new ones relevant to the modern more technological world. If you don't know the term 'jockstrap', you may contact me for a 'brief' explanation.

I recently did a book review of "The Boy Who Runs, the Odyssey of Julius Achon" by John Brant.
You can see it at this link http://onceuponatimeinthevest.blogspot.ca/2017/10/v-7-n-67-book-review-boy-who-runs.html

What have you found while running?

The link above is a recent article I published on my running blog. Some of you may find this interesting,
some may not. It's about what people find while running down the roads, and a second story about a
runner who made a lot of money in money.
