Junior Runners Are Having a Blast Again This Year at RUN4FUN

The 11th edition of The Comox Valley Road Runners’ 8 week Run4Fun program began April 5th and this year’s edition is welcoming 34 eager young runners. Even though the weather has been very wet so far, this years’ runners have been having a lot of fun making tracks in the mud!

The group meets Wednesday evenings from 6:00-7:00 pm until May24th.  Participants of all abilities between 7 and 14 years old are joining in playing games, meeting new friends and finding great places to run in the beautiful Comox Valley.  Our enthusiastic volunteers are making this an experience to remember and hopefully bringing new recruits to this great sport!  Among our returning participants, two of our former runners have stepped up to help as junior leaders this year! The program encourages a healthy lifestyle including eating well, preventing injuries and exercising while having fun.

Run4Fun continues its commitment offering an educational, supportive, non-competitive environment to help kids develop their running skills, endurance, and self-confidence.  This week, the Run4Fun crew will be hitting the trails at both McKenzie Park and MacDonald Woods on a quest to find a hidden treasure!

We would like to thank our sponsors for their continued support each year: Extreme Runners, RE/MAX Ocean Pacific Realty, Rawthentic Eatery, and Sunshine Organics joining as a sponsor for the first time this year.
