Run4Fun Kids 2020 is a GO!
Run4Fun 2020 will bring back the 8 week running-in-nature programme for kids between the ages of 7 and 14, taking place at various parks in the area, on Wednesday evenings starting September 9, 2020.
Runners will participate together , or break into smaller groups when appropriate. They will be encouraged to keep track of their distances as a means of monitoring their accomplishments and relative improvement.
As more information becomes available, it will be posted here, as well as available in pamphlet form.
Young runners will have a blast again this year at Run4Fun 2020!
Kids between the ages of 7 and 14 will explore seven locations in the Comox Valley on Wednesday evenings commencing September 9th, as they enjoy the Comox Valley Road Runners’ (CVRR) eight-week Run4Fun program. Young runners will increase their endurance and learn to run on varied terrain at locations including Seal Bay Park, the North East Woods, Puntledge Park, and MacDonald Woods. Each week will offer different games and challenges.
Supported by a team of experienced Comox Valley Road Runners, young runners will learn about the importance of a proper warm up, pacing, good nutrition, and injury prevention. Runners do most of their distance running in small groups of similar-pace runners, so regardless of kids’ fitness levels or abilities, everyone will get fresh air and exercise while participating in a supportive and non-competitive environment. Many young runners return year after year, and runners 12 years and older who have participated in the program for at least one year are eligible to become Junior Leaders.
The Run4Fun program relies on dedicated CVRR volunteers as well as generous sponsors.
